Eric and Lauren have been together since junior year of college out at Lehigh University and in July 2015, Eric proposed – in Ireland! To make the proposal even more memorable, he surprised Lauren with his grandma’s beautiful ring.
They had visited Skytop Lodge a few years prior and Lauren just knew that if they were to get married one day, this was the location. Not only did it reminds me a lot of Lehigh, with a touch of Colorado mountains, but Eric’s family have been visiting Skytop for over 6 decades!
I’m pretty sure I gasped out loud when I first saw Lauren’s dress! Her wedding vision was described as elegant and this dress that she had found at Little White Dress couldn’t have been more fitting. The lace open-back could literally take your breath away. It’s no wonder that it had been such an emotional moment when Lauren had chosen her dress, with her teary-eyed mom by her side.
Biance and the rest of her team from Shiloh Salon worked their magic and twisted Lauren’s hair to perfectly match her dress – and with impressive timing!
Pink2blue designed a classy pair of navy lace flats, which paired beautifully with Lauren’s Matthew Christopher gown.
Fall is Eric and Lauren’s favorite season (they love those East coast colors!), so it was easy to decide on a which season to marry. Being avid Broncos fans, they also tied in a bit of blue and orange.
One of the most anticipated moments, and photos, of their day was the First Look. There is something so amazing about the anticipation which builds as a bride approaches her groom and seeing time almost stop as they take in the moment.
After a private moment together, we spent a little time taking a few photos. Although temperatures were in the low 30s with 40 mph winds and rain, you’d never guess!
Instead of finding a stranger to marry them, the newlyweds decided it would be far more of a sentimental touch to give the honor to their friend, Tyler. Although officiating weddings isn’t his usual gig, guests were definitely in awe of the heart he put into the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, I grabbed a few quick reception detail photos. This cake really caught my eye – not only did it have the perfect combination of autumn colors, but they had set aside a mini saw for their cake cutting later in the evening!
With a few extra minutes before reception introductions were to begin, we took advantage of the rain stopping and snuck away for a few minutes to grab a few more photos. Not only did the fall colors make for an gorgeous backdrop to their just married photos, but it also gave the newlyweds a bit of alone time – something I recommend that every couple try to do.
We spent five minute or so taking photos and quickly hurried back into the warmth and got ready to begin an amazing evening filled with friends, dancing, and memories.
A huge thank you to all of the amazing vendors who helped make this day so memorable for Lauren & Eric
