Laura and Jonathan had worn their wedding colors to their engagement session back in February. To say they photographed beautifully (both the colors AND these excited couple) is an understatement. For months I grew eager to see how their color scheme would be pulled together for the wedding.
Laura’s day started pretty early in the morning (well, for a night owl like myself anyway), as she headed out to the salon to get even more prettified than she already is. Unfortunately, her makeup artist ended up being MIA and never showed up. While this would likely put most brides into an immediate frazzle, Laura kept herself together. A friend of hers can wow anyone with her makeup skills, so Laura made a quick call and everything was soon back on track.
As she was having her makeup applied, all those around her told her that it wouldn’t have mattered if she didn’t wear makeup – she was gorgeous completely natural.
Just about all of my weddings have been darker colors, so I was loving these tones!
The dress? PERFECT.
After a twenty minute or so drive, we arrived at Holy Angel Church in Kulpmont, PA. You could feel the excitement building up.
It was so adorable to see Laura and MacKenzie, her maid of honor, share these excited glances throughout the ceremony!
When the ceremony ended, Jonathan told me that he has whispered to Laura that if they saw me walking around, they were going to stick their tongues out at the camera. He was a bit disappointed it never happened 😛
We stayed at the church a bit for family formals, then the entire bridal party hopped in the limo and headed back to Laura’s parents’ house where we would get a few more portraits.
The camera loves these two!
You would never guess that it felt like a million degrees outside…these two look flawless.
We finished up formal portraits then everyone got back into the limo to make their way to the reception at Capriottis in McAdoo, PA. As soon as I walked into the building, it was clear why I have heard so many amazing things about Capriotti’s! The staff immediately greeted me and offered any assistance I would need to make this the best experience for Laura and Jonathan.
Tom, the owner, shows so much interest in his couples. He completely lit up when seeing the new Mr. and Mrs!
They did such an amazing job decorating! The even allow couples to decorate the fireplace with photos and other mementos (16×20 prints like Laura and Jonathan chose are most popular). Bonus: the food was incredible.
You can actually feel how crazy these two are about each other! As Laura danced with her father, Jonathan said to me, “I just can’t stop looking at her…she’s amazing.”
It made my heart so happy to know that Laura had truly found someone who would love her with everything he has, forever.
I can’t even find the words to describe the rest of the night, but it is totally safe to say everyone had an awesome time. The dance floor was packed and laughter filled the room the entire night.
Congratulations, Laura and Jonathan. I am so glad you two found each other <3
